    Position Summary
    This positions drafts custom designs and communicates applicable fabrication needs. Constant communication is among the custom design team and fabrication staff. Occasionally has external communication with medical professionals and patients.
     
    Primary Responsibilities:
    The Design Specialist/ Patternmaker will be responsible for reviewing and processing individual manufacturing orders for accuracy, cutting fabric using scissors and marking the fabric for sewing using water based pencil or tailors chalk while independently addressing workflow needs such as; drafting prioritization and production support. Additional duties include; custom pattern and order printing, channel lining, fabric management, scissor sharpening and record keeping.
     
    Qualifications:
    • Intermediate math, deductive and spatial reasoning.
    • Intermediate knowledge and experience of digital and manual pattern drafting.
    • Intermediate knowledge and experience of fabrication.
    • Basic understanding of Lymphedema and clinical practices.
    • Intermediate skill level required in Microsoft Office software; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through both verbal and written skills.
    • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
    • Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate tact, poise and professionalism with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of LRUS.
       
       
     
    Physical Demands:
    This position is performed in a climate controlled, office environment.
    • Able to perform job functions predominately standing, occasionally seated and walking is required
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance
    • Good visual acuity
    • Ability to read computer screens, and hand written communication.
    • Fast paced, professional and deadline-oriented environment.
