Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. RMC Facilities Services, Inc. is a full-service general contractor with over 50 years of extensive experience in the construction industry. RMC is a leading Southern California Certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE) and has become one of the most trusted providers of commercial construction, tenant improvements and facilities management services.

    As a Project Foreman, Paint Division, you will be expected to administer daily operations on the construction site including communication with client and construction management, enforcement of OSHA safety standards, oversee purchasing of painting materials, submittal of weekly time, and adherence to project schedules.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Must be available to work nights and weekends.
    • Ability to communicate efficiently with team members and clients and provide direct support to Project Managers and other key personnel.
    • Review and knowledge of painting scope of work and timeline to ensure the project remains on scope and on time.
    • Perform daily quality control for work team and overall craftsmanship.
    • Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings and request for information (RFI’s).
    • Ability to effectively lead safety meetings on job sites, and continual inspection of workers for performance safety.
    • Communication with management regarding project scope.
    • Document the job progress with photographs and daily reports.
    • Possible commute between multiple jobs sites within multiple days/nights.
    • Broad knowledge of construction and terminology.
    • Ability to problem solve and resolve potential issues to keep the project on track.

    General Requirements:

    • Ability to prioritize work and multitask, while maintaining focus on quality and process improvement.
    • Able to work independently on job sites.
    • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Minimum 5 years of construction experience required.
