Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Facilities Attendant

  • This is a shift work position, including weekends, holidays, and periodic overtime, working independently to service and maintain the assigned facilities and grounds to the standards set forth by the Department of Transportation contract.  This position requires physical presence at the assigned facilities.

     

    II.  Essential Job Functions

      • Complete all periodic training required by the position or the Company.
      • Promote a positive work environment by treating co-workers and visitors with courtesy and respect.
      • Maintain the restrooms of the rest areas in a clean and sanitary condition, adding supplies as necessary and cleaning each area at least once each shift.
      • Maintain the foyer and reception area in a clean, attractive, safe, and sanitary state, including walls, ceilings, windows, doormats, and light fixtures according to the cleaning schedule or as needed.
      • Keep storage area, supply room, and all tools and equipment clean, neat, and secure.
      • Report any necessary repairs to the Rest Area Supervisor.
      • Walk, sweep or hose down the parking lot areas, sidewalks, and walkways at least once each shift.  Maintain walkways as required to keep them free of environmental hazards.  Use slip and fall markers where appropriate.
      • Walk grounds, picnic areas, and pavilions each shift and maintain grounds by collecting observable trash from the ground and treating pest sites with designated pesticides.  Empty exterior garbage receptacles according to the designated schedule.
      • Complete all required paperwork, reports, and checklists each shift.
      • Stock brochure racks as necessary at the beginning of each shift.
      • Maintain vigilance and periodically be visible to the public in order to curb vandalism, theft, and accidents. Report all incidents of vandalism, theft, or accident to the Supervisor and the proper law enforcement authorities immediately.
      • May be assigned other duties as required by the Supervisor.

    Qualifications

      • Must be 18 years of age or older.
      • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs unassisted.
      • Prior experience in facilities operations preferred.
      • Must be able to work alone for the entire assigned shift.

     

    Physical Requirements

      • 80% of the working environment will be conducted in an enclosed and ventilated industrial buildings, exposed to biological fluids and solids, corrosive cleaning agents, fumes, and wet surfaces containing slip and trip hazards, while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as latex gloves, masks, and/or safety glasses.  Incumbents will continuously stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and reach overhead, for long periods of time, and will regularly bend at the waist.  Will regularly lift trash bags, mop buckets, and other equipment weighing up to 55 lbs. unassisted. 
      • 20% of the working environment will be conducted in the open environment, while being exposed to heavy vehicular traffic, the traveling public, and will be exposed to environmental factors such as weather, insects and other animals, domestic and exotic plants, including sources of common allergens, while walking on soft or uneven ground containing slip and trip hazards and inclines or declines.
