Responsible for developing budgets and long-range facilities plans based on company growth and future needs. Being a Facilities Director oversees the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management. Monitors budgets and approves contracts. Additionally, Facilities Director oversees contractors involved in facility projects and delivery of services. Ensures building operations comply with all local zoning laws and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Facilities Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
