Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Hermitage Members Club at Haystack Mountain is the only exclusive private ski resort in the East. We are seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Director to join our team!


    Job Summary (Essential Functions)


    This role is responsible for preventative maintenance and responds to requests for maintenance and repairs in a timely and professional manner monitoring the buildings and the facilities electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems, alarms, elevators, water/sewer, painting, and woodwork care all in the interest in presenting the best facilities suiting our private Club.


    This role requires the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously and to manage third-party vendors and in-house labor in the execution of capital improvement and maintenance projects, as well as on-going monitoring and response to real-time needs.


    Listed below are some of the main functions of this role:


    • Working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, painting, energy management, and small machinery
    • Performing or overseeing routine maintenance around the building interior and exterior: This includes repairs to structural damage, window, door or wall repair and minor carpentry.
    • Project management of larger capital or maintenance projects with outside vendors and resources
    • Responding to engineering requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures Working with sub-contractors on electrical repairs and expansion projects.
    • Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
    • Maintain Laundry, Kitchen/refrigeration equipment, lighting, water treatment and swimming pools.
    • Management of fire, security, cameras, elevators, and other critical systems. Applying preventative maintenance measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
    • Compliance with all state and federal regulations
    • Occupational Safety & Health Training
    • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.


    The Hermitage Members Club is a private winter ski and social club. Our physical assets are 8-10 years old. We have strong capital reserves and continuing membership interest. We have completed extensive renovation and upgrade projects over the past 3 years and are planning for the next few years of expansion.


    We operate primarily December-through-March, plus a number of summer-season special events. We operate 4-5 days a week including all weekends and holidays for a total winter schedule of approximately 80 days.


    We seek managers and supervisors who have already proven success in their roles and can translate that experience to the demands of a familial yet polished private club environment.
