Facilities Engineer plans and implements the design of plants, offices, and production lines in order to maximize the use of available space and improve production efficiency. Estimates costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials, labor, etc. and monitors the construction process. Being a Facilities Engineer researches production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs. Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met. Additionally, Facilities Engineer typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Facilities Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     We're currently looking for a Facilities Engineer to join our growing team of engineering and ergonomics professionals helping our customers reduce their work-related risk to quality, productivity, and employee health. You will work as part of a team to provide engineering documents/designs, project management and field coordination of projects for a major automotive OEM. Further details about the role are as follows: 

    Responsibilities: 

    • Coordinate all facility engineering and construction activities at client site.
    • Make recommendations regarding construction, safety, and project planning.
    • Support procurement of resources necessary for project success.
    • Create and present reports of project progress to management.
    • Assist in developing concept layouts and designs, scope of work, and budgets as needed.

    Successful candidates will have the following attributes:

    • Experience in facilities engineering and project management. 
    • Experience with automotive manufacturing facilities.  
    • Professional Engineering license.
    • Ability to establish priorities, work both independently and in team settings. 
    • A professional manner with excellent oral and written communication skills. 
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. 
    • Ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization. 
    • Detail oriented self-starter who works well as a part of a diverse team.
