Position: Facilities Custodian

Hours: Part Time, 12-16 hrs/wk. Some flexibility in the schedule of hours worked. Consistent schedule required.

The Position:

The Facility Custodian is responsible for facility cleaning and as well as light outdoor maintenance of the Alaskan Brewing Company properties. This position will involve cyclical and repetitively scheduled tasks that will require prioritizing of duties to mesh well with brewery operations. The Facilities Custodian will typically work autonomously, but daily tasks will be directed and monitored to ensure efficiencies and completion of duties with high quality.

General tasks and responsibilities include:

• Clean and sanitize rooms, common areas, restrooms, stairways and windows as well as assist with stocking of supplies in breakroom and restrooms;
• Clean, dust and sanitize furniture and fixtures;
• Cleans floors by sweeping, mopping or vacuuming floors;
• Organize and clean all breakrooms including refrigerators, microwaves, etc.
• Perform all aspects of cleaning company apartments as well as assist with restocking of supplies;
• Assist with special cleaning projects;
• Assist with trash and recycling removal; and
• Responsible for general upkeep of equipment used to perform functions of this position.
• May be assigned some light outdoor maintenance and cleaning.
• Perform additional related facility work as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Special skills include:

• Prior custodial or janitorial experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously but follow a daily work schedule of tasks.
• General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with work.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to set priorities and manage competing demands from many departments.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in progress at one time.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs. as well as the ability to maneuver office furniture.
• Requires strenuous tasks including bending, stooping, and lifting.
• Ability to climb ladders.
