Facilities Engineer jobs in Oakland, CA

We are seeking a highly skilled Facility Engineer. The Facility Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, operation, and improvement of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in facility engineering within the pharmaceutical or related industries.

 Role

• Be responsible for the Preventive Maintenance and Calibration programs in specific areas;
• Generate maintenance plans and task lists to ensure proper maintenance of the technical systems and update as needed;
• Monitors and troubleshoot facilities and equipment ensuring cGMP Compliance, proper functioning, safety, and in a constant state of audit readiness;
• Participate in compliance, safety, and environmental audits.
• Review the operation equipment, instrumentation, and control systems to minimize unplanned downtime, identify and implement opportunities for improvement using operational excellence tools
• Communicate with a wide customer base, routinely assessing customer satisfaction through surveys and one-on-one interactions;

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Engineering with or similar degree in industrial with five years of experience in a facilities management role supporting a large laboratory, Research and Development (R&D), or manufacturing campus;
• Experience in a GMP / GLP environment;
• Proven experience in the successful development and execution of Capital Projects, delivering on time and on budget or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical and biotech production processes as well as understanding of cGMP requirements, rules, and regulations;
• Strong knowledge of GMP requirements with awareness to be able to guide the project requirements and manage stakeholder expectations in terms of cost, schedule, and quality.
• Demonstrated skills in managing projects to bring in on budget, on schedule, and technically correct;
• Specifically design, maintenance, and operation of facilities, building automation systems, maintenance equipment and systems, equipment reliability, instrument calibrations, industrial safety and electrical distribution;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with diverse groups of individuals, experience levels, and disciplines;
• Understanding of Root Cause Analysis;
• Routinely ensures effective cross-functional communication;
• Capital project development and implementation including scope, schedule, and budget development/management;
• Thorough knowledge of and application of Good Manufacturing Practices;
• Familiarity with large-scale biotech manufacturing processes and/or aseptic filling and lyophilization.
