Facilities Manager manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Manager monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Manager trains supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Facilities Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Maintenance/Facilities Assistant plays a key role in the delivery of an exceptional experience to residents in our community. This person will serve in a supportive role for the Maintenance & Housekeeping Departments, reporting to the Facilities Manager.
Overview
The Facilities Manager will outline the goals and objectives for the week and day. These may include:
Attending to regular maintenance and housekeeping duties inside the building, pertaining to common areas and resident apartments
Attending to outside grounds maintenance
Assisting with carpet or other related cleaning duties
Painting of common spaces and apartments
Transporting residents to and from appointments
On occasion, filling in for evening and overnight staff if needed
Responsibilities:
Arrive on time and ready to work
Maintain professionalism while on the job and throughout interactions with staff and residents
Maintain a cheerful and positive attitude
Ensure timely completion of tasks that are up to expected standards
Effective and appropriate communication between co-workers, management, and residents
Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager
Schedule flexibility
Requirements:
Reliable
Experience with maintenance
Experience with painting and cleaning are pluses
Willing to learn
Caring, kind, and positive attitude
Professionalism
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
Be able to pass a background check
Clean driving record.
Be at least 18 years of age with reliable transportation
