About the position
This role is situated within the Administrative Services Division of WaTech, which is dedicated to enhancing the experience for both customers and internal stakeholders. The aim is to facilitate WaTech's delivery of essential IT services to its customers and, by extension, to the citizens of Washington. The person occupying this position will report directly to the Risk Manager.
As the Facilities Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in liaising with Wright Runstad Property Management to ensure the provision of operational services and the management of building operations for WaTech, who is the principal leaseholder. The job entails acting as the point of contact for the WaTech Facilities Management, aiding subtenants at 1500 Jefferson and the State Data Center (SDC) Manager by addressing their needs related to facilities logistics. Additionally, this position oversees the management policies for the 1500 Jefferson facilities, including access security measures and construction projects.
Some of what to expect with this role:

Design spaces for new construction and Move, Add, Change (MAC) projects and tasks in alignment with Risk Manager direction and the Office of Financial Management (OFM) Facilities Oversight strategic guidance.

Consult with WaTech leadership to develop long-term plans and strategies to achieve WaTech Facilities goals in a constantly changing budget environment.

Oversee completion of annual reporting such as the State Facilities Portfolio Management Tool (FPMT), analysis, legislative information requests, and use this data to inform facilities management program goals.

Inspect job site, communicate with subtenant leadership, Property Management, and the Contracts & Procurement team as needed to determine the exact intent of work.

Assure projects meet fire, safety, building, environmental and construction building codes and regulations as applicable and as determined by property management, OFM Facilities, Department of Enterprise Services (DES) Real Estate Services, WA State and Federal law.

Maintain regular communications, monitoring ticket system and triaging issues and following up with closed tickets, preparing customer surveys, keeping the Facilities SharePoint information repositories updated.

Conduct site walkthroughs regularly, and as needed to review maintenance needs, respond to emergent building issues, and identify repair items for WaTech and Property Management.

Ensure all agreements, Inter-Agency Agreements (IAAs), subleases and exhibits, facilities licensure, asset inventories are complete and submitted in a timely manner.

Provide oversight and process improvement for shipping, receiving, packing/unpacking, moving, and storing equipment, materials, desktop IT supplies, and surplus items.

Serve as the designated Agency Transport Officer (ATO).
Here’s what we’re looking for:-
Six years work experience in one or more of the following areas:
-
Building Construction Management.
-
Facility Planning and Operations Management.
-
Property Management.
-
Industrial Engineering.
-
Formal education in one of the above areas or closely related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required experience.

Of the six years’ working experience above, must include:
-
Four years of experience working with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
-
Two years of experience reviewing and enforcing fire safety, building, environmental and construction building codes and regulations.
Preference may be granted to applicants with the following:-
Two years of Commercial Real Estate experience working with buildings rated as five-star LEAN.

Two years of Commercial Space Design experience evaluating and preparing the function, safety, and design esthetic of a space.

Certificates of completion for FEMA courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.
-
NIMS ICS Training.
-
LEAN Practitioner or Process Improvement experience.
-
Contract Management experience.
-
Experience in construction cost estimating principles and techniques.

Experience with working to comply with facilities and safety state and federal regulatory requirements.

Experience managing vendors and contractor agreements.
-
Experience writing organizational policy and technical writing experience.
-
Experience obtaining competitive quotes.
Telework: This position works onsite from our Olympia office.
