Facility Maintenance Technician jobs in Medford, MA

The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.     Responsibilities

    Shift: Night (SU-TU ; SU-W) (6:00 pm-6:15am)

    Location: Woburn, MA

    To understand, monitor and operate facilities systems consistent with laws and established standards. Individual will use relevant experience, documented procedures and "on-the-job" training to achieve set goals and metrics.

    Ideal candidate will poses an understanding of HVAC systems & controls, plumbing, electrical, process piping and have proficiency in at least one trade. Candidate must hold or be capable of obtaining a Grade 1 Waste Water Treatment License within the first 6 months of employment.

    Essential Functions - Scope:

    1. Work safety and follow established safety procedures.
    2. Comprehend the operation of Facilities Systems and their impact on the manufacturing operation.
    3. Monitor key control limits of Facilities Systems throughout the facility and effectively escalate system failures or anomalies to designated contacts along with plan to correct.
    4. Organize and coordinate the resources needed to restore or repair Facility Systems to their operating limits.
    5. Continually represent yourself and Facilities positive to internal and external customers to maintain and/or build trust and integrity.

    Abilities Needed

    * Physical Requirements; A facilities technician should be able to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20lbs. of force constantly to move objects
    * Working Conditions; May require outside work, climbing, lifting and working in cramped areas.
    * Individual must be capable of wearing PPE commensurate with all facilities related duties (i.e. full-face respirator, etc;).

    * Collaboration & Teamwork with strong Communication skills are required to effectively serve internal customers, and interface with various support groups in order to establish priorities and achieve results.
    * Flexibility is crucial to be successful in our fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

    * Strong Organization, Planning & Execution skills are required to develop and execute, plan and maintain responsibilities, schedules, and maximize productivity. Display strong personal initiative and responsibility to following-through on execution of assignments and commitments, with minimal supervision, to ensure a successful conclusion in a timely manner.
    * Continuous Learning is necessary to learn new approaches, tools, and methodologies to stay abreast and move ahead in the field.
    * Nurturing new and existing Customer Relationships, to develop confidence, trust and long term relationships are essential.
    * Must be self-motivated and capable of managing work activities in accordance with department priority matrixes.

    • Upon hiring thefirst 4-6 weeks of employment will take place M-F8:30 am- 5:00 pm fordepartment training.

    Note*This role requires the employee to possess or be able toobtain a grade 1 Massachusetts waste water operator license within the first 6 months of employment.

    The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$59,600 -$104,100per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
