The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Description
Allstate Conveyor Service is looking for an experienced and dedicated person to perform facility preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment in a commercial setting. Travel to multiple customer sites within the five boro’s of New York, Long Island, and Connecticut south of Hartford. Company truck provided with all travel expenses paid.
I. Essential Functions:
The technician will be responsible for, but not limited to, all HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and conveyor equipment. Perform all scheduled maintenance required for the building equipment and emergency work orders. Technician will also be accountable for completed paper work, documentation, and required data entry for each performed work order into a CMMS program.

· Must be able to pass drug/alcohol test and a criminal background check, and have 2 years of facility maintenance experience.
· A valid and clean driver’s license is required to operate company vehicles.
· All candidates are expected to supply their own hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchet and sockets, chisels and punches, hammers, squares, tape measure, etc. Power tools are supplied by the company.
· Candidates must have good mathematical skills in order to measure angles, material thickness, and distance.
· Working knowledge on conveyors, hydraulic lifts, overhead doors, dock levelers, variable frequency drives, fans, heating ventilation and air conditioning units and other comparable equipment. Knowledge of conveyors is preferred but not necessary.
· Basic electrical Knowledge Minimum Class one and class two HVAC certification, Universal CFC license is preferred.
· Satisfactory completion of a HVAC Maintenance and/ or Refrigeration Apprenticeship Program is preferred.
Experience with as many of the following is preferred:
- general contracting
- basic electrical
- roof repairs
- Building repairs and modifications
- floor repairs
- carpentry
- plumbing
- HVAC and refrigeration
- Other miscellaneous equipment repairs and modifications.
- Ability to respond quickly and work independently with minimum supervision or direction from his/her direct supervisor is required.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/ electronic prints and schematics is preferred.
- Ability to work in response to emergencies associated with facility during off hours is required.
