The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification.     Position Summary

    Sanitas is looking for a Handyman passionate for fixing all arising issues at our facilities. Someone who wants to take responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of upkeep or repair operations.

    Our goal across locations is to ensure that the Sanitas facilities are running smoothly at all times and all maintenance issues are solved within 24h.

    An excellent handyman must have a great eye for detail, prioritize urgent issues that are impacting operations and proactively fix non-urgent ones. They must have technical skills and general knowledge of various crafts such as painting, basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC etc. You will be required to ensure all work areas and equipment. Leadership and knowledge of administrative tasks such as prioritizing, and scheduling are also essential in this position to be able to manage deadlines well.

    • Inspection of facilities to determine problems and necessary maintenance
    • All issues must be reported & marked as resolved via email and facilities software
    • Monitor inventory of materials and equipment
    • Overseeing 3rd party tradesmen during installations, repairs, or maintenance (electricians, plumbers,)
    • Overseeing regular maintenance vendors activities.
    • Inspection and maintenance of building systems (heating, ventilation, plumbing, fire alarm etc.)
    • Participation in project coordination and management (e.g. renovations)
    • Ensuring adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
    • Performing hands-on maintenance work and basic repairs as needed. Use our maintenance network to hire contractors and utilize 3rd party vendors for more technical/advanced skill-level work.
    • Contribution to the development of maintenance budget and ensure compliance
    • Complete daily reports through facilities software and Microsoft office (Excel, Power Point, and Word)

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications


    Required Education and Experience

    • High School or equivalent qualification required
    • Proven experience as maintenance or facilities technician
    • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating, plumbing, etc.)

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations
    • Intermediate to advanced computers skills required in Microsoft office (Excel, Power Point and Word).
    • Understanding of budgeting and performance management
    • Eagle eye for details
    • Paint and drywall finishing
    • Great communication and interpersonal skills
    • Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
    • Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
