The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Job Summary
Do you have excellent home maintenance and property management skills? Support the property management team at Del Mar Vacations by ensuring our 350 homes are well cared for and maintained. The scope includes everything from basic handyman repairs and standard annual maintenance items to more specialized projects based on homeowner requests and needs. The ideal candidate will be confident and capable in problem solving various issues and researching the best solutions if necessary. They’ll have a good presentation for both guests and homeowner customers and will be capable of good written and verbal communication. A strong desire to problem solve and to ensure our homes are at their peak maintenance is critical.
Responsibilities and Duties
The day-to-day varies and is never boring - you’ll use a range of handyman, repair, and maintenance skills - sometimes on-the-fly - to solve issues for guests and homeowners. The variation in work means you’ll constantly be learning and improving. Having a chance to work both independently, and with a team, you can gain experience learning from others and your own research. Perform skilled work involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, furniture assembly, WiFi/cable troubleshooting, TV set up, and HVAC. Complete the schedule determined by the operations scheduler - support in providing quotes, and scheduling as needed. Your job will include maintenance of company equipment, facilities, portfolio properties and grounds. Must have knowledge of basic operations, tools and terms used in building maintenance and repair work, safe work practices, and safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools.
