Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate HANDS Family Support Worker to join our team. As a Family Support Worker with the HANDS program, you will provide assistance and support to individuals in need, focusing on childcare, parenting skills, and health services. This position will require you to make home visits. Your role will involve utilizing your skills in social work, motivational interviewing, and conflict management to help individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular planned visits to establish a trusting rapport for the eligible HANDS participants

- Initiate and maintain regular and long-term contact and provide support to parents and families
- Assist parents/families with child development, parenting skills, health services and other resources identified at assessment or during visits

- Monitoring of child's, mother's and family's progress by making referrals to community resources
- Implement behavioral health strategies to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower individuals to make positive changes
- Maintain confidentiality of program information obtained from home visits and exchanged while communicating with community and support service providers
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress

Requirements:

- Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience working in social or health related field preferred
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and compassion for individuals facing challenges
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules

- Must complete on the job training requirements within 6 months of hire (HANDS program training, CPR certification, etc.)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $13.50 - $16.79 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
