    Position Summary:

    Center For Family Services is seeking a full-time Family Support Worker for the Healthy Families Program. The Family Support Worker is responsible for establishing and maintaining a long-term relationship with the families enrolled in the Healthy Families-TIP in Camden County. The Family Support Worker is a key part of the Healthy Families program which provides early intervention and family support services, links to educational & job placement resources, ideas on caring for newborns and toddlers, support for families in the home, and assistance for expectant and new mothers building strong, healthy relationships with their babies.

    Job Status: Full Time

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Family Support Worker performs screenings and assessment of first time mothers, conducts home visitation services from pregnancy through the child's third birthday, and establishes a trusting relationship with at risk families by initiating and maintaining regular client contact. This individual participates in establishing a case plan with goals, objectives and activities with supervisor, demonstrates motivation to familiarize self with parent-child interaction and child development materials, and demonstrates motivation and ability to learn and apply basic counseling skills. The Family Support Worker assists parents in making appointments for doctors and social services agencies, is familiar with community resources appropriate to needs of clients, and efficiently manages assigned caseload and related work responsibilities. This individual completes documentation and other reporting requirements, meets regularly with supervisor, attends staff meetings, case conferences and in-service training, and participates in continuing professional development opportunities.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma
    • Some College Courses preferred
    • Experience working with families with children and/or newborn babies
    • Driving skills and current driver's license with a driving record of at least three years
    • Vehicle with current insurance and registration
