We are seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Family Services Worker in our Family Support Program.

    The Family Support Program provides services to youth who have been reunified with their family following an out-of-home placement. As the Family Services Specialist, you will work closely with identified families to address a wide range of concerns, including: safety planning, parenting, and coaching strategies to effectively parent and de-escalate aggressive or heightened behaviors. The Family Services Worker may also provide support and assistance with other areas of family life, including household management, nutrition, safe and stable housing, education, employment, medical needs, mental health resources, and substance abuse issues.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE FAMILY SERVICES WORKER:

    • Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
    • Analyze client histories and capabilities to determine services required to control safety threats.
    • Provide face-to-face contact with families to ensure safety and cooperation with safety plan and to provide crisis response to deescalate, support and educate. Serve as part of the Safety Team.
    • Assess families and refer to any needed community resources.
    • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
    • Safely transport clients as needed.
    • Act as an on-call resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.
    • After training is complete, the Youth Support Specialist is added to the schedule to support after-hours calls.

    LOCATION: Office is located in Appleton, WI with local travel required to meet clients within the home or other community spaces. Flexibility to work hybrid/remote two days per week. Must be able to meet in-person with families located in Outagamie County, Wisconsin.

    SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday with rotating evenings and weekends. Must work one evening per week (2:00-10:00PM, flexible) and one weekend per month. We also have a Sunday-Thursday schedule available.

    SALARY: $20.00 per hour

    Requirements

    • Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
    • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
