Description
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including but not limited to hydraulics and electrical engines on construction and agricultural equipment. This is a Level III technician role, meaning you'll need to have 7-10 years of experience repairing and servicing this type of equipment, and a willingness to continue learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC:
You will be trained based on the equipment manufacturer you represent, with the intent to achieve established mastery and certifications where applicable. We hire mechanics based on level of experience (I, II, III, Journeyman), and you will receive wage progression as you make progress toward journeyman status as outlined in your union contract, You may come in as a Shop Technician, reporting to a branch location every day with an assigned bay, or as a Road Technician where you start in our Shop then progress to an assigned territory based on your learning plan and experience.
THIS IS A UNION REPRESENTED POSITION
We are proud to be affiliated with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers AFL-CIO, District Lodge 190, which represents this position at our company. This means you become part of the union within 30 days of being hired and your wages and benefits are established through the CBA negotiation process. Your starting wage will be determined based on your relevant skills and experience, and you will be placed on a development plan that leads to a wage increase every six months until you reach journeyman status. Wage increases are based on your demonstrated skills and overall performance.
