In this fast paced, highly visible role, you will support a broad range of human resource activities across the manufacturing plant, including collaboration with plant management, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, coaching & counseling, policy interpretation & administration, compliance, training, and talent development.
The Human Resources Manager manages human resource function and provides excellent customer service to employees, supervisors, and leadership for most human resource needs. Administers the benefits function while adhering to internal control policies.
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for staffing according to business need, sustaining critical HR programs and overall talent management. This role will partner with the Plant Manager to ensure that any broader initiatives include the appropriate HR considerations. The HR Manager must have a working technical knowledge of all relevant labor and employment regulations, excellent communication skills and a strong motivation to advance WindsorOne’s Core Values and culture.
Having the right people in the right place at the right time
The Manager, Human Resources will leverage talent acquisition tools to fill open positions as well as prospect for strategic people needs. This role will work closely with local staffing agencies to fill temporary positions as well as be primarily responsible for all hourly direct hiring. The HR Manager will also be a critical contributor in selection processes for Plant management roles.

In addition, this role will also play a leadership role in executing the WindsorOne talent identification and succession planning process (also called the “People Plan”). The HR Manager must also be influential in deploying an individual development planning process as well as our performance management process. The HR Manager must finally ensure that all progressive discipline and policy matters are executed in an appropriate manner in accordance with labor and employment rules and our company policies.
Job Responsibilities:
● Work collaboratively with the managers and supervisors to provide best-in-class human resources services to our team.
● Maintain relationships, interaction, and visibility with all levels of the organization.
● Act as a business partner with management to lead HR initiatives, institute work improvements which positively impact business profitability and raise employee engagement.
● Ensure that the plant is staffed appropriately to labor planning. This includes advertising, screening resumes, interviewing, ensuring management involvement in the selection process, and job offers. Enabling the plant to be resourced to meet production demands is a primary responsibility of this role. The HR Manager will also interview exempt and other senior hires when necessary.
● Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
● Administers payroll, benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs.
● Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures as needed.
● Develop and ensure implementation of an employee relations strategy.
● Educate and coach line management on company policies, plant work rules, as well as applicable federal and state regulations, to ensure fair and consistent HR standards throughout the plant.
● Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance through personal example by adopting a customer-based approach to Human Resources.
● Lead and continuously improve our enterprise-wide Onboarding program with an objective of ensuring all new hires receive a proper introduction to the company, their location and their job throughout their first 90 days.
● Manage the Objective Setting and Performance review process throughout the year to ensure that all associates receive objectives and performance feedback throughout the year.
● As part of the plant leadership team, ensure a safe work environment where accidents are prevented where possible and any injury/incident is handled with the associate’s well-being as the top priority and then addressing worker’s compensation administration and the root causes and countermeasures to prevent future occurrences.
● Work with the Plant Manager to ensure HR plans support the needs of the business but are also flexible enough to cope with changes in the organization, as and when they occur.
● Oversee payroll and benefits administration to ensure associates are paid timely and accurately and are provided benefits they elect. This should also include management of various LOAs including FMLA.
● Assists plant management in the annual review, preparation and administration of wage and salary program.
● Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions, analyzing information and applications. The HR Manager must be comfortable challenging assumptions and have the courage to stand alone when it is appropriate while also maintaining productive and sustainable partnerships with other leaders in the organization.
● Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
● Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education, Skills, and Work Experience:
● At least six years of multi-faceted human resources management experience within a manufacturing environment.
● Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Bi-lingual, Spanish and English speaking, reading and writing.
● Ability to lead and influence others.
● Proven track record of successfully managing FMLA, workers compensation and unemployment claims.
● A master of processing accurate, timely payroll. Experience with ADP will be considered a plus.
● Experienced maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
● Will have strong generalist experience ideally gained from comparable production/manufacturing/assembly organizations coupled with first rate Employee Relations abilities.
● Excellent interpersonal skills including written, verbal communication & presentation skills. With the ability to interact with not only team members but also all levels of the organization and external organizations.
● Have strong persuasive & negotiation skills to successfully manage not only conflict resolutions but also to initiate/lead change.
● Competency with appropriate office software tools including Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and use of payroll and HRIS systems required.
● Working knowledge of regulatory, legal and statutory rules governing employment and labor law.

- Proficiency in Taleo or other applicant tracking systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proven experience in strategic planning and decision-making
- Supervisory experience is a plus
