ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Candidate will provide audit support services through site visits and testing to verify the existence of employees and determine whether adequate timekeeping practices and controls related to timekeeping are in place and working properly. Assist in the development of the scope, objectives, and work plan for all assigned audit engagements. Mentor and coach staff in all aspects of audit projects including technical accounting and business process matters, audit techniques, effective utilization of data, project management and written and verbal communication skills. Interpret regulations, research government contracting and accounting issues, and develop solutions that maximize the company’s position.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 5 years prior experience working directly with DCAA at a Federal contractor or 3 years prior experience at a public firm specializing in government contracting advisory services. At least 1 year experience with Deltek Costpoint and IBM Cognos. Requires ability to use Excel on an intermediate or advanced level. Experience with Access preferred. Prior experience as a DCAA auditor, DCMA cost/price analyst, or Federal contracting officer a plus.
GENERAL DUTIES: Travel between sites (50-mile radius from office) 2-3 days per week to conduct floor check interviews, spot audits, and testing at multiple locations to provide a complete snapshot of the current audit readiness. Maintain working relationships with Governmental auditors and reviewers, responding timely to requests for information. Evaluate the adequacy of the Company's system of internal controls to ensure reliability and integrity of timekeeping and attendance information and compliance with policies, plans, procedures, and applicable laws & regulations. Support management in optimizing internal controls by appraising the economy and efficiency with which resources are employed. Identify and communicate meaningful audit findings and recommendations. Document all audit findings within a formal Audit Report within the Company set timeframes. This includes, audit findings, and recommendations for improvement or correction. Follow up with auditee(s) to ensure that a suitable and acceptable corrective and preventative action plan is submitted to HR. All such reports and CAPA (spell out first time) plans to be reviewed/approved and archived within the pre-set Company's audit report database.
OTHER DUTIES: Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor as necessary to support contract/mission support requirements in job-related areas.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires successful completion of a National Agency Check, with Investigation (NACI) and requires a Secret or Top-Secret security clearance. Candidate must submit to a NACI and be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Employee may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or emergencies. Government vehicle will be provided (if available), use of personal vehicle will be authorized and mileage reimbursed. Ability to work well with others under high-stress situations, effectively interface with internal functional and project organizations and meet both internal and external customer goals/objectives. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical skills for problem solving, risk assessment and strategy including the ability to apply sound judgment. Have the ability to clearly organize and articulate complex regulatory information for the purpose of supporting a position and/or effectively transferring knowledge. Knowledge of government regulations and oversight agency procedures, such as those within Defense
Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA); and experience maintaining positive working relationships with Government employees, including strong negotiation skills.
Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies. Supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work activities are performed at various sites across the Eglin Air Force Base range. Travel to these sites may be over unpaved roads and may at times be difficult to navigate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be willing to travel 2-3 days per week – 50-mile radius from office. This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must be able to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal. Requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. May require sitting for long periods of time.
