    Position Summary / Objective
    As an Employee Benefit Plan Field Auditor, you will be a valuable part of our team as you perform audit testing procedures relating to Employee Benefit Plans (EBPs), with primary responsibility for payroll compliance audits and, as assigned, assist on financial statement audits for employee benefit plans. Most assignments will be spent at client or payroll compliance audit locations with occasional overnight travel. However, as many clients provide audit information electronically, testing procedures may be conducted both in the office or work-from-home environment based on the needs of the business.
    Travel
    • Ability to travel to work locations away from primary office assignment. Most work will be spent at client or payroll audit locations with occasional overnight travel
    • Ability to drive a personal vehicle to work locations up to 300 miles from primary office location
    • Ability to transport all necessary equipment and data in a secure manner
    Essential Functions / Responsibilities
    • Perform payroll compliance audits for Employee Benefit Plan Audit (EBPA) group to test employer compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) of union-based benefit plans
    • Prepare and/or proof written reports communicating payroll compliance audit findings
    • Prepare work paper documentation according to Firm standards
    • As part of the EBPA team, assist on financial audits of benefit plans and as assigned, assist on financial audits of other types of business entities
    • Develop an understanding of the rules, regulations, and code of ethics of the AICPA
    • Become familiar with:
    • The Firm’s policies and procedures
    • Pronouncements from the appropriate governing bodies (i.e., DOL, AICPA, FASB, & IRC)
    • Firm computer hardware and software
    • Basic research techniques and tools
    • Pursue charge hour goal
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Capable of applying the knowledge obtained by an Associate degree in Accounting
    • A willingness and ability to work independently and in a team environment
    • At times, it will be required to work more than 50 hours per week
    Qualifications
    Required
    • Associate degree in Accounting or related field
    • Previous professional work or internship experience in accounting or related field
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
