Seeking an experienced Network Engineer IV / Field Technician to support the NASA Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Network and Telecommunications Services (NaTS) under the Advanced Enterprise Global Information Technology (IT) Solutions (AEGIS) contract. This job requires working closely with key NASA program customers, managers, leaders, and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on implementing Cisco's Software Defined Access (SDA) architecture across NASA's corporate network agency-wide.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Level II Network Engineer requiring minimal supervision and in coordination with Government, perform a variety of network engineering tasks, either independently or under supervision, which is broad in nature and is concerned with the design and implementation of integrated networks, including personnel, hardware, software, and support facilities and/or equipment.
• Plan and perform network engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with network design, engineering, and customer specifications.
• Coordinate the activities of Network Technicians assigned to specific network engineering projects.
• Perform with some latitude for independent actions and decisions.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic understanding Cisco networking architecture, products, and services.
• Some hands-on experience with Cisco switches, wired and wireless.
• Basic understanding of traditional Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies to include switching, routing, TCP/IP, ARP, DHCP, DNS, and security protocols like IPSec.

Basic Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required
• 6 - 8 Years prior experience in lieu of degree
