Field Engineer - Construction delivers on-site technical oversight support to provide engineering guidance and monitoring for construction projects. Monitors construction progress and conducts daily site inspections to ensure work complies with time, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Being a Field Engineer - Construction follows quality control procedures and inspection protocols to ensure that standards, designs, blueprints, and specifications are understood and followed. Troubleshoots technical issues that arise on-site and consult with architects, contractors, and supervisors to develop and implement solutions with minimal disruption to project schedules. Additionally, Field Engineer - Construction documents construction activities using logs, progress, and inspection reports and regularly updates status to project managers. Attends project meetings to provide technical input and present recommendations to improve construction processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Field Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Review project documents.

Understand the objections of the site survey and provides horizontal and vertical control using Total Stations.

Participate in basic layout and field engineering activities. These activities would include:
-
Establish control lines from control points.
-
Layout Foundations.
-
Layout vertical formwork such as columns and walls.
-
Establish elevation control points.
-
Layout decks and deck edges.
-
Layout required embeds block-outs and other items required by contract.

Assist in the performance of a variety of surveying activities.
-
Provide clerical support and documentation of engineering activities.
-
Maintain proper usage and storage of all surveying equipment.
-
Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related assignments as needed.

Working during inclement weather, could be exposed to extreme cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations depending upon project site.
Minimum Qualifications-
Minimum of one year of experience in field engineering/lay-out.

Good communication skills - written, verbal, interpersonal.

Proficient at reading and understanding contract drawing, including but not limited to both structural and architectural drawings, with the ability to cross check between the two documents as needed.

Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in fast paced environment.

Possess knowledge of construction field engineering from pre-construction to completion, preferred.
