Position Summary:
This is a supervisory position that works directly on the job site to ensure proper job completion and client satisfaction. The Superintendent is responsible for supervising field team members, including laborers and carpenters of all levels, as well as coordinating subcontractor project involvement while onsite. The Superintendent also ensures all project materials are correct and well-utilized and functions as an important step in our Quality Control process.
Work Functions & Responsibilities:
- Studies plans, specifications and other material related to project to become completely familiar with the scope of work.
- Obtain/oversee all permits required for construction. Ensures that all subcontractor permits are obtained.
- Pre-construction and periodic photo and video documentation.
- Assists Project Manager in creating a construction schedule, material supplier/subcontractor list, and materials list for the project.
- Coordinates and schedules subcontractors and materials to maintain the project schedule.
- Supervises all workers on the site to ensure the work is completed in a safe, professional manner.
- Responsible for jobsite safety including safety meetings, PPE use, JHA compliance, etc.
- Responsible for all Quality Control on project. Maintain a current set of plans and specifications at the project site.
- Sets an example in keeping the job organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection.
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts efficiently.
- Maintain as-built plans on site for close out. Schedule and prepare for any inspections required to complete the project and obtain a Certificate of Occupancy.
- Prepare daily reports on the form provided. Submit timecards, delivery slips for material, daily reports and any other project related paperwork on time each week.
- Maintain constant communication between the Owner’s representative, Architect, Engineer, and Project Manager and provide them with information regarding any changes to the project.
- Travel between multiple job sites and manage multiple work loads as needed.
- All other duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- OSHA 10 Certified – OSHA 30 Preferred
- 7 years of applicable construction experience
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of software including Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal communication skills, especially when addressing clients and other team members
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Must have a valid driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of construction supervisory experience as a Superintendent or Lead Carpenter
- OSHA 30 Certified
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Semi-frequent stair climbing.
- Operation of power tools and other heavy machinery as required.
