Job Overview::
Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking experienced a Field Construction Manager to join our Renewable Energy Program in Portland, Maine. The Field Construction Manager, led by the Project Manager and Construction Manager coordinates, manages and supervises all construction and on-site electromechanical tasks, as well as the civil work.
Responsibilities & Duties::
- Field Support to Fix Problems – Being Proactive

Make notifications to open and close daily work. Check the perimeter of the substation/ROW at the beginning and end of the Call Energy Control Center & Security Operation Center in case of anomalies.

Must do Reporting – Weekly Report, Monthly Reports, site weekly minutes of
- Monitor Schedule - Look Ahead PM

Must attend the contractor’s safety, environment, and Quality meetings; provide a tip in the onsite
- Keep on-site and update the H&S, Environment, and Quality project
- FCM must be organized, must document everything to provide a good paper trail

Work in the preparation of the Final File.

Must review contractor invoices and Conduct weekly project progress Request the contractor a two-week look- ahead schedule at each weekly meeting.

Must be always On-site whenever work is being performed (make the frequent observation of contractor’s activities and adherence to M&PT when in public ROW).

Coordinate Material delivery between the Customer’s Stockroom, and Inspect all project-related construction material for damage and completeness for the project execution

Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications, quality, and adherence to construction
- Facilitate resolving construction problems, discrepancies, procedures, and methods by working with engineering personnel, inspectors, contractors, and suppliers. Must have strong communications
- Minimize Change Support Project Manager Services to review any requested Change Orders/Notices or other claims submitted by Construction Contractors which relate to additional payments, schedule adjustments or other modifications to the

Project, and make such recommendations to the utility regarding the legitimacy of such claims and review the Construction Contractor’s proposed mitigation.

Review and understand the project Documentation and any related documentation and provide input to enhance the constructability of the project, taking into account schedule, cost, and quality
- Maintain daily on-site as-built project plans (on-site must match contractors working copy)

Continuously communicate (written and verbally) with the associated PM

Coordinate as necessary with all local and state municipalities throughout project execution

Ensure all CIP/NERC requirements are maintained throughout the project execution
Qualifications & Skills::
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education with 7 years relevant experience
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive related electric utility industry experience.

Five (5) years' experience in a supervisory capacity preferred

Applicants should have the knowledge, experience, and skills needed to review project plans, specifications, contract enforcement, and applicable technical standards, OSHA, and other regulatory
- Knowledge of SAP is preferred

Knowledge of Renewable Energy preferred.

Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings and convey interpretations to contractors

Extensive knowledge of electric utility industry materials and equipment is a must

Able to assess the health of Utility assets and equipment as they relate to the utility inspection
- Good working knowledge through actual use of MS Office products including Excel, Access, Word and MS
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Must have current US Work authorization and valid US Driver License in good standing

Must be willing to travel to construction sites on a day-to-day basis, attend meetings

Must be a resident of Maine and able to travel to varies locations
