This Field Audit Manager position manages and is the subject matter expert for the Audit division’s Seattle area office. This Field Audit Manager position is the subject matter expert for tax administration, audit policies and procedures, excise tax rules and laws, taxpayer rights, agency responsibilities, management principles and personnel rules. The position is accountable for significant contributions (Multi-millions) of revenue to the state general fund, local governments, and dedicated accounts. The position also controls spending related to travel, training, supplies, and small equipment.

A successful candidate will:
We're looking for candidates who have the following:
Bachelor's degree with major study in accounting or allied field which includes 24 semester or 36 quarter hours of college-level accounting (may include credits from one Business Law class)
AND
Three (3) years of experience in professional accounting or auditing. This experience should include knowledge of the Washington Revenue Act of 1935, as amended; rules, policies and court decisions affecting the audit program, principles and procedures of accounting and auditing.
Additional experience in tax administration, tax policy or in tax auditing may substitute year-for-year for the education requirement.
Certified Public Accountant, Certified Managerial Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Fraud Examiner is preferred.
We will also be looking for candidates who possess a working knowledge and full utilization of skills in management principles, communication techniques, personnel rules and regulations, direct and remote supervision, mentoring, coaching, team building, performance assessment and OFM travel regulations. We will be evaluating candidates for knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and capacity for effective leadership that aligns with the culture of DOR.
