Being a Field Service Engineer identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures. Orders and replaces parts as needed. Additionally, Field Service Engineer develops detailed service reports to document service visits, issues, and troubleshooting actions and logs and tracks maintenance activities. Answers basic customer questions about product features. May provide some customer training. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Field Service Technician (FST) is accountable for repair and service of equipment located on customer job sites.
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the repair of all rental equipment residing on various job sites in addition to normally assigned shop technician duties. The FST is also responsible for the upkeep of OFLs on long term rentals, coordinating with the counters on the replacement of equipment.
