Field Superintendent - Construction oversees the daily construction activities of contractors, foremen, and workers at a work site to ensure projects follow schedules. Coordinates the procurement, delivery, and placement of materials and equipment on-site as required to execute each phase of a construction project. Being a Field Superintendent - Construction follows construction schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions to keep the project on track. Additionally, Field Superintendent - Construction directs or conducts inspections to audit the quality of workmanship and materials and compliance with specifications and standards. Completes the required status, change, or timekeeping reports. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project manager. The Field Superintendent - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Superintendent - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     We are seeking NC Based Field Construction Superintendent for all phases of construction projects in healthcare and retail sectors including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications and safety regulations are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Will be responsible for job site safety, on-time scheduling, inspections, and quality control. An understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important for project success. High levels of professionalism and independent judgment are imperative skills required to plan, prioritize and organize the diverse workload. The expectation is to create and maintain positive and professional client and contractor relationships.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Makes safety a number one priority on all projects and office environments per OSHA and company policies
    • Assist in budgeting, bidding, and award of subcontracts
    • Gather and review project material submittals and maintain records of approvals at the job-site
    • Identify areas of work that are outside of subcontracted scope
    • Support Project Manager with creating accurate change-orders
    • Attend and assist Project Manager with customer progress meetings
    • Responsible for all pre-construction meetings with subcontractors
    • Opening jobsite at beginning of the day and securing jobsite at the end of the day
    • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion
    • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed
    • Communicate with project team regarding ASI’s, RFI’s, and Material Submittals
    • Verify subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work
    • Implement risk analysis prior to starting project and lead daily safety meetings covering any pertinent safety news and/or concerns
    • Coordinate required inspections with local agencies
    • Proactively identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to the project team and work together for a timely resolution
    • Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite and submit electronically daily
    • Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously
    • Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team
    • Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning
    • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work
    • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors about quality of work or scheduling
    • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner
    • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma required
    • Computer Proficiency required
    • Minimum of 5 years verifiable experience of construction trades and industry
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
    • Project Management experience preferred
    • Ability to travel extensively when construction site is not close to main office when responsible for activities at two or more sites
    • 30-hour Safety Card Certification
    • First Aid and CPR Certification
