Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Roofing Field Superintendent to join our team. As a Field Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating roofing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with job specifications and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing and construction, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise roofing projects from start to finish
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project specifications
- Provide guidance and support to field personnel, including training and mentoring
- Collaborate with clients to address any concerns or issues that arise during the construction process
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress updates, and change orders
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocol
- Manage project budgets and expenses to ensure profitability
- Ensure proper management of all foremen, field employees, and trade partners
- Involved in hiring, training, and disciplinary action for field employees
- Ensure project performance quality via daily quality assurance inspections
- Assistance in estimating as needed
- Responsible for continual advancement of application techniques and/or equipment
- Minor material and equipment purchases or rentals
- Leading or attending mandatory safety meetings
- Ensure safety standards are met, including PPE at 100%, and performing daily safety inspections
- Development of field employees
- Demand high standards (i.e. safety, quality, productivity, attitude, appearance, dependability, etc.)
- Work with Human Resources to discipline poor performance promptly with documented write-ups
- Periodic review of job costs issues with production and estimating departments
- Point out potential cost/savings issues as related to job or company performance
- Directly responsible for productivity performance in relation to estimated job productivity
- Directly responsible for planning with client superintendent or project manager to ensure all equipment & personnel are appropriately allocated to projects
- Directly responsible for adherence to project timelines
- Daily visits to various projects to ensure management project visibility
- Responsible for minor day to day purchases to keep all projects operating in maximum efficiency
- Ensure the daily and weekly accurate completion of timecards and payroll submissions
- Direct interaction with superintendents, foremen and field personnel
- Other additional duties as may be required from time to time.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the roofing industry
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, including project timelines, resource allocation, tools and equipment, and industry language
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with stringent deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
