    JOB SUMMARY
    MTG provides technology installation and support services to commercial businesses on both a local and national level.

    This position is responsible for working with Project Managers and the field team to provide on-site support and MTG representation for job kick-offs, quality control, and system tests on projects.  This position will work with Project Managers to build and maintain relationships and communication with contractors and the Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) in the Twin Cities area.

    The Field Superintendent must exhibit field leadership skills, strong communication and organizational skills, and extensive knowledge of low-voltage installation practices. 

    This position reports to the Director of Labor Resources. 

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Understand the various scopes of work MTG encounters daily
    • Assist with small project kick-offs as needed by the Project Managers
    • Pre-test systems and provide MTG representation at final inspections of projects as needed
    • Perform pre-project job site inspections to ensure construction readiness
    • Assist with installation work in critical situations
    • Provide onsite coaching to help develop our field staff and teach the MTG Way
    • Maintain an accurate calendar of activities and locations
    • Complete daily summary reports
    • Serve as a point of escalation for AHJs to resolve issues, meet occupancy deadlines and build trusting relationships
    • Communicate project progress to Project Managers and Scheduling Coordinator to ensure field schedule accuracy
    • Monitor and demonstrate MTG and OSHA job site safety practices to the field staff
    • Conduct quality control assessments to ensure MTG standards
    • Attend and contribute to weekly meetings
    • Complete daily timecard
    • Build and maintain strong relationships across the project management team and field team to ensure open lines of communication
    • Inspire and motivate field team members to encourage positive attitudes and the MTG Way
    • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset  
    • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Other related duties as required or assigned
    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Minimum of 5 years of field installation experience. 10 years preferred
    • Power Limited Technician license required
    • NICET Fire Alarm Certificate preferred
    • Strong understanding of electrical and low-voltage systems
    • Extensive field experience with fire alarm, access control, video surveillance and data infrastructure (some audio-video experience helpful)
    • Proven ability to self-manage schedule, punctuality, responsiveness, reliability and consistent productivity
    • Strong understanding of a construction project timeline
    • Well-organized, accurate, and attentive to detail
    • Strong time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
    • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment using MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other common programs
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
