Job Summary
We offer students the opportunity to spend a summer working at one of Securitas' US Operating Centers. This internship program offers undergraduate students with real-world application of business within the North America Shared Services organization. You will participate in a 10 to 12-week internship located in Parsippany, New Jersey for 25-35 hours (or more) per week. You will work in various areas such as Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), Reporting, Treasury, Sales & Use Tax, Financial Operations (Credit Operations, Business Services, Billing, and Cash Application). You will have an opportunity to share new perspectives, fresh ideas, specialized strengths, and technical skills to help grow our business. You will also have an opportunity to present an End-of-Assignment Presentation on the topics you have learned. Successful completion of the internship program could lead to a return internship for the following summer or employment at the organization in the future.
Essential Functions
Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICFR)
- Support ICFR department with the annual review cycle of the control environment
- Learn how to use Excel, SharePoint and/or SmartSheet (creation, maintenance, workflow, reporting)
- Send out test sample requests via email, SharePoint workflow, or SmartSheet workflow
- Perform analytical work such as control sample review for completeness
- Track status of each company code/organizational unit for any periodic management updates
Reporting
- Learn how to use SmartSheet to create and satisfy additional reporting needs
- Assist in research of items for various reconciliations
- Assist with SST monthly close process
Treasury
- Support Treasury with cash management items
- Support Treasury in catch up of payroll reconciliations
- Support Treasury with researching open items relating to virtual pay
Sales & Use Tax
- Assist with current audits
- Assist the Sales Tax Supervisor with office mail
- Assist with the formatting of our purchasing and fixed asset files
- Assist the Sales Tax Supervisor with account reconciliations
- Assist other team members with tax filings online
- Assist other team members with record retention
- Assist with configuration of Vertex Indirect Tax Returns
Financial Operations
- Support Credit Operations in assessing risk of potential and existing customers
- Support Billing by transacting customer credit and debit memos
- Support Cash Application by transacting customer payment applications
- Work with Excel and directly in Oracle and Salesforce
Minimum Qualifications At Entry
Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.
Education/Experience
Undergraduate students majoring in Accounting, Economics, or Finance or other related business major with a Graduation date between December 2025 - May 2027
Competencies (as Demonstrated Through Experience, Training, And/or Testing)
- PC experience is necessary; knowledge of Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint is a plus.
- Ensures accountability.

Compensation
$20 per hour
