Finance Manager manages the daily financial activities and functions for an organization including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Ensures all financial operations are in compliance with governmental rules and regulations. Being a Finance Manager forecasts and manages a cash flow that meets the needs of the company. Provides guidance to managers in financial reporting objectives and standards to ensure accurate, compliant and useful financial reporting is produced. Job Summary:
Lewis Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Inc., a prominent historic black church nonprofit organization located in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team. As Finance Manager, you must possess the ability and skill to analyze everyday financial activities within the organization. This includes financial planning, risk analysis, financial statement preparation, and financial report writing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts receivable, financial services, public accounting, and financial accounting. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is also preferred. The end goal is to enable this organization leaders to make sound financial business decisions and meet the church/organization overall financial objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Review long-term and short-term goals and projections of expenditure of funds based on Minor and Capital Purchase of Fixed Assets.
-Work with Senior Pastor/CCO to establish forecasting, resource plans, and budgets.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage the preparation of financial statements and reports
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital
- Maintain the financial health of the church/organization and its entities.
- Provide guidance and support to the finance team
- Perform risk analysis and develop strategies to mitigate financial risks
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards
- Establish and maintain liaison with auditors to ensure monitoring of the church/organization finances are maintained as required yearly or as established by policy.
- Additional responsibilities and duties as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or economics (master's degree preferred)
- At least five (5) years of proven experience as a Finance Manager or similar role
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices
- Proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional qualifications i.e., CFA/CPA or similar considered a plus.
