Job Description

The Financial Aid Counselor will assist in the administration of Federal Financial Aid programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Verification of financial aid applications
• Packaging aid offers
• Managing federal/state programs
• Counseling students and their families regarding financial aid matters
• Additional responsibilities may include: college work study program oversight, satisfactory academic progress reviews, consortium agreements, using professional judgement, outreach, training
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• One year of financial aid, admissions, academic advising, or registrar's experience
• Knowledge of Federal Title IV regulations
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills in working in a diverse environment
• Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
• Strong attention to detail
• Presentation/public speaking experience
• Cannot be in default or owe a return of Title IV aid

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree
• Two years prior experience with Federal Financial Aid

Salary will be $46,050 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
