Description

• Communicating with patients and insurance companies on the phone
• Appropriately documenting and reporting payment information
• Educating patients about payment options and financial assistance
• Negotiating and strategizing patient payment arrangements
• Updating patient accounts and balances
• Going over insurance and costs of procedures with patients before admitting them to the hospital
• Making sure all the paperwork is in order and collecting forms such as prior authorizations if needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 years of experience in medical billing or hospital admittance
• Knowledge of private and government insurance plans
• Computer proficiency
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Working Knowledge of Processes for all major insurance carriers, intermediaries, Medicare and Medicaid strongly preferred.
