    Position Overview:
    Reporting to the Global Corporate Controller, our Financial Accounting Assistant Controller oversees the and directs day-to-day activities of the financial accounting team for North America. The role will be part of a dynamic and high performing team that values hard work, customer service and continuous learning. The Financial Accounting Assistant Controller will be expected to roll up their sleeves and be the go-to person for financial accounting and reporting, while assisting with treasury, sales and margin financial analytics and its impact on sales commission for a high-volume multi-business unit company.
    What you’ll do as the Assistant Controller, Financial Accounting

    • Lead and manage all aspects of the monthly accounting close process for accurate and timely financial statements representing the operations all entities in North America; including preparation of key indicators for a monthly close package
    • Oversight of the trial balance and accompanying account reconciliations ensuring any reconciling item is identified, root cause noted and resolved within 90 days of transaction.
    • Daily oversight of sales and gross margin analytics for audit of anomalies and creation of MTD, QTD and YTD reporting
    • Support treasury management focused on forecasting weekly cash requirements and managing processing payable transactions to optimal payment terms
    • Cultivate finance partnership with the local finance teams in Pakistan and India supporting the close process around the globe
    • Provide resource for reporting and analytics on a periodic basis that highlight business drivers for overall sales, gross margin and cost accounting for project level accounting for the service delivery business
    • Serve as the technical accounting professional and trusted advisor to senior management maintaining current knowledge of in-country GAAP and/or IFRS, relevant regulations, and industry trends
    • Oversight of Order Specific Rebate receivables team inclusive of aging reviews, triaging escalations and partner audits
    • Triage the commission review cases coming from sales; research material variances to recommend adjustments to be submitted to the commissions calculation toolset
    • Effectively lead accounting team in fostering a fun and engaging team dynamic, drive engagement through defined accountability and determining staff requirements to ensure an efficient workflow and effective team structure
    • Assist in the required audit procedures to ensure all necessary documents and support for financial and bank reviews and audits are submitted timely to the auditing parties
    • Drive productivity improvements throughout the accounting organization and increase organizational capability through training and development of personnel and efficiencies through automation
    • Instill financial discipline throughout the organization and implement effective cost and expense control measures
    What are your strengths:

    • Apply common sense, theory and experience to decision-making; interpret data to recognize subtle patterns, discrepancies and trends; and identify key issues using inductive reasoning in complex situations.
    • Ability and desire to translate sophisticated financial concepts to individuals at all levels including finance and non-finance managers
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment, managing multiple activities and changing priorities within tight timeframes
    • Ownership mindset—data accuracy and reporting integrity are crucial to our finance brand
    • Ability to influence, establish credibility, trust, and partnership at all levels of the organization (across geographies and organization), and knowing when to escalate appropriately
    • Proficiency in documenting, and implementing accounting policies and processes, with thought leadership to localization in other geographies
    • Above average Excel skills and sophisticated knowledge of MS Office
    What you will bring to the team:
    • Bachelor’s or equivalent in Accounting or Finance; Masters Degree and/or CPA a plus
    • Eight (8) years’ progressive experience in auditing, accounting, tax and compliance in a dynamic, high volume environment
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience specific to financial accounting and statutory reporting; experience with cost or professional services accounting a plus
    • Knowledge of US GAAP, and accounting concepts to optimize, improve and drive problem solving and improvements to existing process
    • Hands on experience using a large ERP system required; Microsoft Dynamics preferred
    Compensation:
    • Qualified candidates can expect a salary range of $140,000 - $175,000 Bonus.
    • Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Washington area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
