Financial Assistant (Public) provides assistance to the Public Financial Associates. Assists in the financing of taxable and tax-exempt bonds. Being a Financial Assistant (Public) prepares business reports, proposals, and presentations. Coordinates meetings and communications between all parties involved with transactions. Additionally, Financial Assistant (Public) verifies compliance with NASD and other regulations and completes all required filings for a deal. Familiar with underwriting policies, practices, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Financial Assistant (Public) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Under close supervision of the supervising attorney, responsible for conduction legal research including researching precedents in cases. Prepares and disseminates complex documents; compiles and prepares subpoenas, pleadings, etc. Develops and modifies forms and procedures. Delivers legal pleadings.
Education: Completion of a law degree. Admission to all State trial courts and the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court as soon as legally eligible.
Experience: No experience required, but public defender internship or similar experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Licensing: License to practice law in the State of Georgia OR eligibility to sit for the next State of Georgia Bar examination.
Travel from office to other locations is less than 50%.
