SUPERVISOR(S): Public Works Division Administrator
THIS IS A REGULAR FULL-TIME NON-EXEMPT POSITION
JOB SUMMARY: The Administrative Assistant will provide clerical and operational support to the Division Administrator of Public Works. The Public Works Division includes the Facilities Maintenance and Water & Sewer departments. This position will coordinate and manage executive scheduling, prepare, and organize contractual and legal documents, and routinely execute a wide variety of support duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: None.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of office and accounting principles and procedures. Knowledge and proficient with computer software especially Excel, Word, and other related accounting and management programs; Abila MIP, and RVS Billing Software preferred. Ability to assist with the coordination of department projects as directed by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PERSONAL CONTACTS: Daily contact with supervisor, other staff, other agencies contractors, and Water and Sewer customers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office/Community setting may have to do bending, lifting and carrying of at least 20 pounds, basic knowledge of wiring for water meter/radio transmitters.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office and Community, some home visits for water meter purpose of meter reading or repair. All tribal buildings are smoke free.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to travel and attend meetings and trainings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally.
