Job SummaryThe Financial Aid Counselor is upbeat and positive as they serve as the face of our continually growing institution, and plays a critical role in delivering financial aid services to Sheridan College students. As a member of the Enrollment Services team this position is responsible for maintaining an effective scholarship application and awarding process, and the day-to-day management and administration for institutional and foundation scholarship allocations.
Reports ToDirector of Financial Aid Services
Education/Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
- Computer databases and records maintenance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to receive directed work and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Microsoft Word and Excel at advanced level
- Work independently and as an effective team member
- Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
- Federal and State financial aid rules and regulations
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements- Standard office environment
- Occasional evenings and weekends
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

Responsibility/DutyAs a member of the Enrollment Services Team,- Ensure that goals, objectives, plans, budgets, policies, practices, and actions produce desired student outcomes consistent with the overall mission and strategic plan.
- Practice and promote continuous improvement principles.
- Promote teamwork and cooperation between departments.

Responsibility/DutyProvide in-depth financial aid counseling to prospective students, current students, and parents regarding financial aid opportunities including: FAFSA application, scholarship applications, eligibility guidelines and resources.

Responsibility/DutyResponsible for administration of the Sheridan College scholarship program to include institutional, private, and State of Wyoming – Hathaway Scholarships. Provide recommendations on institutional and foundational scholarship allocations to ensure institutional goals and donor specifications are met. Coordinate and conduct scholarship information presentations on and off campus.
