The primary responsibility of the Senior Manager of FP&A is to oversee reporting, analysis, forecasting, planning, target setting, and performance management related to the financial strategy. Responsibilities are pivotal in attaining the organization’s goals and objectives. This role involves managing performance metrics on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, analyzing business drivers, offering valuable insights, and leading process improvement efforts.
Senior Manager Financial Planning Analysis Duties
- Fosters positive internal relationships and collaborates efficiently across various departments like sales, marketing, finance, SIOP, and other company subsidiaries.
- Provides corporate level guidance and support in the acquisition of new organizations including integration planning and implementation support to ensure subsidiary data is included in monthly reporting promptly and consistently.
- Leads the consolidation of monthly and quarterly reports for the internal leadership team and Board of Directors, analyzing actual results against budget and prior year, identifying variances and recommending actions.
- Drive the annual planning process, including corporate wide guidelines, deliverables and adoption with business partners.
- Monitors and analyzes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, assess business opportunities, and evaluate risks.
- Oversees the rolling forecast cadence including income statements, working capital, cash flow forecasting, and supporting long range planning.
- Manages the SG&A process to drive standardization and simplification with department leaders, enhancing visibility of cost drivers and identifying opportunities for efficiencies.
- Drives initiatives for finance automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Performs special projects and ad hoc reports as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance
- 6 – 10 years of progressive experience in finance
- 3 – 5 years of experience performing full P&L analysis and forecasting, management/board reporting, and budgeting
- Experience in a medium to large organization ($100M revenue or more)
- Advanced experience utilizing computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel analytics), JD Edwards and business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI
- Ability to synthesize large quantities of data into actionable information
- Ability to inspire and lead others to achieve company objectives
- Excellent interpersonal skills for fostering relationships across all employee levels
- Superior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all employee levels including executive management as well as board members
Preferred
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics or Finance
- Experience with M&A and integrations
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience working in a private equity backed environment
