Financial Reporting Accountant jobs in Monroe, LA

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial accounting and is comfortable utilizing accounting software.

Duties:
- Assist in weekly payroll processing and ensure accurate calculation of wages, taxes, and deductions

-Assist the Controller with Job Cost accruals and reporting
-Assist the Controller with monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts
- Prepare documentation for audits and assist auditors as needed
- Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax reports

-Assist in responding to sales tax examinations
- Assist the CFO with employee benefits accounting

-Assist the CFO with employee inquiries pertaining to employee benefits

- Assist with other financial duties and reports as requested by the Controller and CFO

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification is a plus) or 5 years bookkeeping experience
- Proven experience working as an Accountant or in a similar role

- Experience in payroll tax reporting

-Experience in employee benefits reporting
- Strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles and practices
- Analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Solid understanding of financial concepts and financial acumen
- Office manager and/or human resource experience are a plus

-Proficient in use of Excel

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

- Willingness to take on new tasks and/or assist where needed primarily in the accounting department

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
