JOB TITLE: Financial Reporting Junior Associate (Hybrid Schedule)
ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $65,000 - $85,000
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE / POSITION SUMMARY: The Junior Associate will be a key member of the Financial Management Division (FMD) and will be primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of the Farm Credit System’s combined quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures. Knowledge and experience with Hyperion HFM a plus. The successful candidate will work in a team environment and have an opportunity to interact with Funding Corporation’s leadership team including others within the Farm Credit System.
This position requires a degree in Accounting and at least 18 months of work experience in accounting, auditing or financial reporting. Experience must include financial statement preparation and analysis, preferably for a public company or audit engagements of public companies, including commercial banks. CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the timely preparation of the System combined quarterly and annual information statements.
- Prepare and review financial information submitted by System Banks. Follow up with appropriate Bank personnel for any unusual or material fluctuations in account balances.
- Interact effectively with the Banks and provide customer service, as needed.
- Provide support for the identification and resolution of reporting issues.
- Assist in the financial analysis of System Banks/Districts relative to the Annual and Quarterly financial reporting processes.
- Ensure that the accounting and financial reporting processes and deliverables are controlled and meets internal control requirements. Assist in the financial analysis of System Banks relative to intra-System financial agreements.
- Prepare quarterly System Audit Committee analytical reports
- Prepare the monthly collateral report for review
- Support department projects and ad-hoc requests
- Assist in certain processes in FMD’s Corporate Accounting group
- Discharge such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Vice President & Assistant Controller or other department leaders
The individual must possess the following:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work independently and also work cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to build strong relationships with all individuals across the organization and with key stakeholders across the Farm Credit System
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, while performing quantitative analytical work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously, prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Will be required to work outside of normal working hours, especially during reporting periods and some weekends, as needed.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Hyperion HFM experience a plus
- Prior experience in banking or financial services a plus
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Work location – Remote and Jersey City, NJ (next to Exchange Place PATH)
- Work schedule – Hybrid and Flexible. Required to be in the office Tuesday through Thursday, while Monday and Friday are work from home. Employees are entitled to 6 flexible days per quarter to work-from-home mid-week.
