Financial Reporting Supervisor supervises employees responsible for the preparation and distribution of annual and/or quarterly financial statements for external use. Ensures that all documentation complies with company regulations, professional standards, and SEC and GAAP reporting guidelines. Being a Financial Reporting Supervisor may serve as a liaison with external auditors. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Financial Reporting Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC and other filings.
- Assist with annual audit and quarterly reviews.
- Assist in research accounting, consolidation, and reporting issues.
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial reporting.
- Special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 0 - 2 years of experience preferably in a public accounting firm or with a public accounting company.
- Knowledge of US GAAP.
- Solid time management skills; ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and function independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Problem solving with ability to recognize issues and deal with them directly.
- Personable, positive and enthusiastic attitude with capability to deal effectively with people.
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and written.
- Excellent organization skills and work habits.
- Sense of initiative with desire to become truly involved in the business.
- Flexibility with ability to work in a team setting supporting several people.
- Microsoft Office applications.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
- The Associate Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor’s degree and 0-2 years of relevant job related experience
Working Conditions:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
