Fire Fighter is responsible for rapid response to fires, accidents, and other emergencies to protect people, property, and the environment. Works with firefighting teams to control and extinguish fires and safely manage hazardous materials. Being a Fire Fighter performs search and rescue, responds to auto accidents, and provides emergency medical services. Uses and operates fire tools, equipment and apparatus as effectively and safely as possible. Additionally, Fire Fighter performs routine maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment and gear to ensure proper condition and preparedness for emergencies. Prepares post-incident reports as required. May participate in fire safety education and inspection activities. Typically is required to pass periodic physical ability tests. May require registry in NREMT. May require an associate degree in fire science. Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. A&H Forestry, LLC, located in Sherwood,OR is seeking a FULL TIME Forestry Technician and possibly Wildland Fire Fighter based out of Roseburg, OR to perform various duties in a variety of terrain in Oregon and Washington.

You are:
Hard-working, self-motivated person with the ability to adapt to changing daily duties. You have a general knowledge of GIS/GPS technology and have, or obtain upon hire, a valid commercial herbicide application license. You are able to navigate to remote forest locations and conduct field work for long periods of time, in varying conditions, safely, and efficiently. You are an effective communicator, pay attention to detail, and can procure and produce technical data.

Essential Duties:
This position will have some travel mainly if needed to help finish a project. Working in areas across OR/WA.
Perform inventory cruising(Plot work such as: planting, stocking surveys, PCT, CT, and Timber inventory), vegetation control, stream buffer marking, tree planting inspections, and general duties as required for contract administration.-Possess, or obtain upon hire, a valid commercial herbicide applicators license.-Ensure contract work is completed in compliance with contract specifications.-Support foresters as needed on silvicultural projects in specific locations.-Adhere to all safety standards set by A & H Forestry, LLC.-Maintain good relations with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and A & H employees.-Uphold core values held by A & H Forestry, LLC.
Skills/Qualifications:-
Working knowledge of GPS/Phone App technology, Avenza, Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft Office Suite desirable-Ability to perform well in a variety of terrain and weather conditions-Ability to work alone safely and efficiently-Must have good communication skills-Team player who also works well independently and to whom "thinking outside the box" comes naturally.-Own or purchase cork boots. They are required for certain field work conditions.-Positions require working outdoors in all types of weather. Work also includes prolonged, strenuous labor; working at heights, working with chemicals, herbicides, working around forest fires, and working around loud noises from machinery or equipment. Jobs are performed in remote location with limited or no cell service. Most all jobs are completed individually.-You will have a great schedule working 4) 10 hour days, with occasional mandatory overtime when projects need to get finished.-You must own a 4x4 vehicle with CB radio that can be used for travel to work locations (mileage is compensated).
Wildland Firefighting:
If candidate wishes to work on fires in the summer, it requires travel and overtime. We are able to get you certifications if you do not possess them already.
Benefits:-
Pay is Hourly and based off experience and time with the company. $18.50 - $24.00 per hour.-Health benefits-Paid Time off/Flexible scheduling-401K-Food reimbursements/Lodging are available when traveling overnight.
