Fire Inspector jobs in South Dakota
Fire Inspector conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Prepares reports and issues violation documents. Being a Fire Inspector documents and defines actions needed to resolve non-compliance situations. Conducts fire investigations. Additionally, Fire Inspector has extensive knowledge of codes, ordinances, construction materials, and alarm systems. Typically requires an associate degree in fire science or equivalent. Has completed fire inspection training and may require the Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI) credential and applicable State License. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Fire Inspector is capable of working on complex problems and exceptions without direct supervision. Has a wide and comprehensive understanding of both general and specific aspects of the job. Heiman Fire is looking to hire a Fire Truck Assembler responsible for assembling various parts for the different fire trucks we build.
Responsibilities
- Position and fasten together custom assemblies related to fire fighting
- Bolt, screw, clip or otherwise fasten custom parts including; mounting steps, handrails, lighting options, cabinetry, or other related items
- Install custome Fire Truck accessories according to customer specifications
- Cuts and bends metal trim to specified size and configuration using tools and machines
- Perform basic electrical work realting to fire fighting
- Sand, grind, or prepare surfaces
- Clean and detail equipment prior to customer inspection
- Test equipment used with fire fighting apparatus
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience with autobody repair or automotive body shop preferred
- Associates Degree in Auto Body repair or related area preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude
