Fire Inspector Supervisor oversees the inspection of fire-damaged dwellings to determine cause and prevention. Enforces a variety of fire laws, regulations, and policies. Being a Fire Inspector Supervisor requires a high school diploma or its equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Additionally, Fire Inspector Supervisor relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.     Fire Protection Inspector

    Although not required, it is beneficial for the successful candidate to be licensed as a fire sprinkler inspector, fire alarm inspector, and a fire extinguisher inspector.

    The Fire Protection Inspector is responsible for performing scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and fire sprinklers in both residential and commercial spaces.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Performance of daily, weekly, monthly and / or annual inspections and preventative maintenance services on various sized fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and fire sprinkler systems
    • Repair, replace, fill and tag all fire extinguishers
    • Service and test all systems
    • Complete electronic and / or hand written inspection reports
    • Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner
    • Assist the scheduling and completion of assigned duties
    • Ability to work independently and use provided personal protective equipment

    Job Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Two years of experience in the fire protection industry preferred
    • New Mexico Dept of Labor Sprinkler or Fire Alarm license preferred
    • Have an understanding of NFPA and building and fire codes
    • Ability to communicate effectively; both verbally and written
    • Valid driver’s license; in accordance with company policy required

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Regular bending, reaching, climbing and walking
    • Occasionally driving over 100 miles may be required
    • Climbing ladders up to 10 ft.
