    Summary

    The part-time Fire Apparatus Sales Representative will work collaboratively with the sales team to establish working relationships and sell fire apparatus. The representative will be assigned a designated territory in which existing relationships with customers must be maintained and new opportunities pursued. Work will include transparent, timely and high-quality responses to all customer requests for apparatus bids, quotes, sales, and delivery. The representative will take complete ownership of the apparatus sales performance and customer relationships in their assigned territory.

    The position reports directly to the Vice President of Apparatus Sales and works to establish strategies for increasing sales, supporting customers, and improving sale processes.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

    • Identify and communicate with sales prospects and other accounts, as assigned.
    • Establish and maintain current and potential customer relationships.
    • Maintain ongoing, continual face to face contact with every customer in the assigned territory.
    • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from marketing and related field activity.
    • Prepare, submit, and present presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
    • Develop apparatus specifications using OEM software.
    • Develop pricing worksheets and consortium compilations.
    • Coordinate and manage contracts per OEM requirements.
    • Respond promptly to telephone, fax, e-mail, social media, and all other types of inquiries from customers, Ten-8 support staff, management and vendor partners.
    • Communicate and serve the customer during and after the sale to ensure satisfaction and to promote future business.
    • Maintain current knowledge of competitive products and pricing.
    • Collaborate with all members of the Ten 8 team to ensure that corporate, division, and personal goals are achieved.
    • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of products, sales handbook, and order management policies and procedures
    • Identify and resolve customer concerns by working with OEM and Ten-8 colleagues.
    • Prepare a variety of status reports, including forecasts, activities, closings, follow-ups, and goal progress.
    • Communicate new opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity using a CRM tool.
    • Attend trade shows annually and interact with customers and vendors.
    • Deliver apparatus and provide/coordinate training to customers. Work closely with Order Management to ensure all order information is accurate for each order and payments are received in a timely manner.
    • Work closely with Service Managers to ensure complete customer satisfaction is achieved.
    • Participate and coordinate all inspection trips with customers.
    • Other duties as assigned by the President/CEO to accomplish the mission and vision of Ten-8.
    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English are required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence both written and verbal. Ability to effectively and concisely present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to customers and other employees. Ability to work from oral and written instructions

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence. Proficient verbal communication skills, in English, are required.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
    • Five (5) to seven (7) years of sales experience, Fire Service industry preferred.
    • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, and algebra.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variances in standardized situations.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
    • Possess an unwavering dedication to premier customer service and support.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, and work quickly and efficiently.
    • Maintain strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
    • Maintain strong problem-solving skills.
    • Maintain the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
    • Knowledge of fire apparatus and background preferred.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and provide a positive company image to customers, and public at large.
    • Maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License.
    • Maintain a flexible schedule that can adapt to customer needs.
