The Fixture Builder ensures jigs function appropriately with complex angles or contours. Assembles a variety of standard and non-standard major jigs, fixtures and related tooling. Being a Fixture Builder designs and creates jig and fixture details and holding devices. Responsible for determining methods and sequence of operations and scheduling work to be performed from tool design drawings. In addition, Fixture Builder may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Requires a high school diploma in a related area with certification in the field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. - Assemble and install structures using power tools and hand tools
- Perform quality checks to ensure all components are properly aligned and secured
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects within deadlines
- Operate forklifts or other equipment to transport materials as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Builder or in a similar role preferred
- Proficient in using power tools and hand tools
- Mechanical knowledge for assembling and fabricating structures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings
Skills:
- Proficient in using power tools such as drills, saws, and sanders
- Strong mechanical knowledge for assembling structures
- Ability to operate forklifts or other equipment safely
- Excellent attention to detail for precise measurements and cuts
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that may arise during construction
