The Fixture Builder ensures jigs function appropriately with complex angles or contours. Assembles a variety of standard and non-standard major jigs, fixtures and related tooling. Being a Fixture Builder designs and creates jig and fixture details and holding devices. Responsible for determining methods and sequence of operations and scheduling work to be performed from tool design drawings. In addition, Fixture Builder may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Requires a high school diploma in a related area with certification in the field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Working as a Fixture Builder typically requires 3-5 years of related experience. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Description
· Applying rubberized material to plaster or cardboard forms or second ply materials.
· Being able to read specs and drawings dedicated to each fuel cell part number.
· Rolling (stitching) 100% of the rubberized materials with assorted size rollers (stitching) without any wrinkles, air, etc.
· Cutting with scissors or shears excess materials. Trimming lap overs (splices) and around fittings
· Filling out appropriate paperwork as you lay the materials.
Requirements
· Regularly use hands & arms with repetitive motion & reach
· Occasionally move/roll a fuel cell weighing up to 50 pounds.
· Manual dexterity for handling production material
· Standing consistently during an 8-hour shift
· Regularly exposure to fumes or airborne particles
· Being able to pull on 50 lbs. of weight suspended in air.(fuel cells on mandrel stands)
