In addition, Fixture Builder may be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established control procedures. Responsible for repair, test, and maintain, machine fixtures, in the production area. May assist engineers in testing and maintaining machining fixture equipment. Description for Internal Candidates
Responsibilities:
Ability to safely utilize lifting equipment for changing weld fixtures in robotic weld cells including strict adherence to lockout/tagout safety regulations.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Responsible for first part set-up and qualify first part to engineering specification.
Inspect, replace, and order or fabricate any worn-out tooling fixture components.
Organize and maintain accurate physical inventory locations for all robotic weld fixture storage.
Ability to interact effectively with Design and Manufacturing Engineering all weld fixture updates and/or design improvements.
Document changes, repairs and qualify fixtures to insure conformance to all design engineering specifications.
Replace and adjust tooling fixtures and components using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Observe production weld fixtures in operation to detect malfunctions, adjustment, alignment, and replacement of worn-out components.
Disassemble, clean, and ensure all components are operating correctly.
Strong mechanical skills.
Ability to safely operate power tools and machine shop equipment.
Strong interactive skills with production personnel.
Responsible for maintaining inventory of tooling replaceable components.
Familiarization with robotic welding robotics.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Basic machine shop experience preferred.
Welding certification preferred.
Excellent mechanical amplitude.
Skills in MS office
Advanced understanding of industrial automated equipment, processes, controls, etc.
Understanding of PLC’s and programming/controls concepts and practical application. (Plus)
Use of tools relative to trade (multi-meter, Lockouts, hand tools, etc.). (Plus)
Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and practical application
Knowledge of identifying device/part needed, ordering, and inventory controls.
Documentation substantiating at least 3 years of practical experience in Robotics/automation and weld fixture repair and maintenance.
Experience with Yaskawa robots preferred.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and background in welding, electrical, and pneumatics a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 45 lbs. repetitively.
Must be able to stand for entire shift.
Position requires bending, stooping, stretching, and reaching.
Work Environment:
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and humidity.
Will be exposed to dust from robotic weld cells and fumes from the powder coat processes, however all exposures are within acceptable OSHA standards.
Moderate noise level requires hearing protection.
Regular exposure to moving parts.
Language Skills: English required, Spanish (Plus)
Fluent English reading/writing skills is required.
