    Support Equipment Mechanic - Kuparuk Field Support Services - Fleet Shop

     

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Support Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining oil field support and construction vehicles and equipment. This position may supervise apprentice workers engaged in vehicle and equipment repair work.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Inspect light vehicles, fork lifts, and oil field support equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
    • Repair light construction vehicles and equipment such as large volume pumps, compressors, generators, light plants, welding machines, fork lifts, ATV's, and other auxiliary equipment.
    • Adjust, repair, and replace engines, fuel systems, hydraulic and electrical systems, breaks, suspension, steering, and transmissions.
    • Disassemble and assemble vehicles and equipment parts using hoists, hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools and instruments.
    • Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including lubrication and oil changes in accordance with maintenance schedules.
    • Operate vehicles and equipment to diagnose and ensure operating efficiency.
    • Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
    • Maintain vehicle maintenance records.
    • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area.
    • Supervise apprentice workers engaged in light vehicle and equipment repair work.
    • Any other duties as assigned.
    • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
    • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum of three (3) years related training and experience required.
    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • ASE certification or OEM certification and fork lift repair experience preferred.
    • Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

    WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

    While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
